Discover the Connection

Passport to Adventure is an educational travel program designed for Atlanta-area youth to discover the cultural connections between Africa and the African Diaspora.

The program consist of two (2) components: (1) classroom instruction of the visiting country; and (2) a study tour that will include travel to countries in Africa, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Europe.

Students will be responsible for a portion of the expenses for the trip, but they will be assisted with fundraising activities.

After completion of the program students will then qualify to participate in the study tour the following summer.

The study tour will last between two-three weeks where students will volunteer on community projects, develop peer to peer relationships, conduct research and create a documentary of their journey and experiences.

Passport to Adventure five year travel plan includes: Ghana, West Africa (2008), Brazil (2009), Mexico (2010), Barbados (2011) and France (2012).
